Who I Am

I am a board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist and researcher in high-risk digital media use in youth. I did my psychiatric training at the Harvard-affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Cambridge Health Alliance.

I first became interested this topic over a decade ago, particularly as it related to my young patients with psychiatric symptoms of anxiety or depression. Research consistently suggests that these youth are most vulnerable to the dangers of social media; yet, as a specialty, we are still struggling to understand how best to protect this high-risk population.

Through my research and writing, I hope to make a meaningful difference in the way we manage issues like cyberbullying, sexting, exposure to high-risk online content, and excessive digital media use in clinical settings.
